Magic fall at home to lowly Raptors
The Orlando Magic lost a close game tonight to the Toronto Raptors by a final score of 110-106. The story again tonight was a lack of defense and most importantly, defensive energy. I am not going to spend a lot of time on breaking down the reasons for the loss tonight because they are virtually the same as they were in the Utah loss. This Magic team is slow on defense and clearly lacks a sense of urgency. Outside of Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson and Mickael Pietrus, nobody really showed up tonight. Every time the Magic would seemingly be pushing away, they would turn the ball over or have a defensive breakdown to eliminate any potential momentum. Dwight led the team with 25 points and Pietrus added 24 point on 8-11 from 3-point distance. The key to success for the Magic is strong defense, rebounding and taking care of the ball. They were beat in all 3 departments tonight and that typically spells l o s s.
The Magic are back in action tomorrow night at New Jersey. Game time is set for 7pm and the game will be televised locally on Sun Sports.
P.S. If anyone happens to stumble across Vince Carter’s ability to get to the free throw line, please return it to 400 W. Church St. Orlando, FL 32801. Thanks.
