Winning streak snapped at 9, Magic stumble in New Orleans
The Magic’s winning streak was stopped tonight in New Orleans after they fell in overtime to the Hornets by a score of 92-89.
The Magic went on a 9-2 run in the last minute of the game keyed by two Jason Richardson three pointers and then a Hedo Turkoglu three pointer with 6 seconds remaining, which would end up forcing overtime.
Dwight Howard scored 6 of the Magic’s 8 OT points but when it mattered most, he came up short. Dwight missed two free throws with 11 seconds remaining that would have put the Magic ahead. With that being said, right before Dwight was fouled, Hedo took an awful three pointer with the Magic down only 1 point. Not smart basketball.
Hedo not only played hero, he also played goat. Luckily for him, the fans tonight will remember Dwight’s missed free throws rather than Turk’s bad decision. Turk finished the game with 8 points on 2-10 shooting and was coughing heavily on the bench towards the end of the game.
The lone bright spots for the Magic were Dwight Howard who had 29-20, Jason Richardson (21 points) and Ryan Anderson (5-9 shooting for 14 points and 8 rebounds). The remainder of the 8-man rotation shot 10-48 from the field and attempted only 3 free throws.

The Magic are back in action tomorrow night in Oklahoma City against the Supersonics Kevin Durant. Tipoff is at 8PM EST.
