Magic beat Sixers and Dwight Howard sends Jrue on a Holiday

With Dwight Howard returning from suspension for the Magic and Andre Iguodala  getting the night off, there was little doubt which side would have the advantage tonight.  The Orlando Magic rode a balanced scoring attack and stellar second half defense to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers 95-85.

Dwight Howard (19 and 13) and Ryan Anderson (18 and 14) manhandled Philly on the boards as Orlando out-rebounded Spencer Hawes and his gang 56-31.

Jameer Nelson had 19 points, 7 assists and knocked down his first 4 three-point attempts in another return to his hometown.

The Magic played without J.J. Redick, Gilbert Arenas and Quentin Richardson and Philly was without Iggy and Lou Williams.

Unfortunately for Philly, their depth isn’t quite the same as Orlando’s.  Philly can’t rely on a Chris Duhon, Earl Clark and a Malik Allen to be able to step out on the court and deliver. Sarcasm.

The biggest play on the night came as Dwight Howard caught a Jameer Nelson alley-oop in transition and just flat-out destroyed Jrue Holiday’s pride.

Good night Jrue, thanks for coming.

The Magic are back at home on Wednesday for their final regular season game as they face off against the Indiana Pacers.  Game time is set for 8pm.
