J.J. Redick undergoes abdominal surgery. Expected to live. Hair untouched.
Sam Gardner, the Super Bearded Magic Beat Writer for Fox Sports Florida, reported on Tuesday that J.J. Redick did indeed have surgery late last month to repair his torn abdominal muscle. The surgery was deemed a success and I have a source that has indicated to me that his hair was unharmed in the surgery and that his gel will not be sitting idle during the six week recovery time that coincides with the surgery. Chelsea Redick, his wife, was unavailable for comment.
That same injury kept him sidelined for the final 17 games of the regular season and even when he returned during the playoffs, he was limited. The good news is that even despite the six weeks he’ll be sidelined, he will likely be at full strength once training camp begins.
